My new, "awesome", job lasted 3 weeks.
Yes, that's right I am no longer an employee at Ellis Rehab.
...Actually NO ONE is an employee at Ellis Rehab anymore.
To make a long story short I was notified less than 12 hours before the next work day that I no longer had a job because Ellis Rehab was closing their doors due to funding issues with Medicaid etc. After 27 years in business, employees at Ellis Rehab had just a few hours to pack up and leave. No reimbursement of accumulated PTO (I did not have to worry this) and no final paycheck (makes me furious!).
Needless to say my supervisor (who I love) and her husband (our lead therapist) had a get together at their house where we all shared info about job opportunities...etc. They wanted to make sure we were all okay and give us time to say our proper good byes on better terms. The owners were not present.
Searching for a job with a sketchy internet connection, 3 month old baby, and the thought of a house and rent payment sent me into somewhat of a "oh my goodness what are we going to do" thought process.
I emailed out my resume and filled out about 5 applications, mostly in the home health setting. I had 2 interviews and 3 offers. God is so good! I accepted a PRN position for pediatric speech therapy with At Home Healthcare. They have great full time benefits so once I want to step up to full time status I will receive my own car and gas/maintenance card along with your standard benefits (PTO, insurance benefits, etc). AWESOME!!!!!!
So in a week or so I will begin seeing patients in Athens; I'm hoping to travel no further than Chandler. I will only be working 2 days a week (not long days either!) and Kylan will be able to stay home 7 days a week! Thank you Lord!
PRAYING IT GOES WELL!!!!!
