Chad & I had a fun-filled, action packed Spring Break!
It began with Chad's mom, sister, and our niece coming out for a 4 day visit.
We picked them up at the airport and were so excited to see our baby girl (and Karen & April!).
Waiting @ the Airport!
They're Here!!!!
Presley w/ Her Newest Gift from Aunt Sissy & Uncle Cooter
After driving around El Paso and taking the scenic route home Presley got sick (throwing up)...and it did not stop! That poor baby threw up all day and all night...we finally drove back to El Paso and spent all night and all morning in the E.R. She had a viral (stomach) infection of some kind and continuously got sick over and over again. We were all worn out and felt so bad for this precious baby girl! I mean she must have thrown up somewhere around 50 times in a 4-5 hour period! It was so heart breaking!
So our trip was pretty much consumed with keeping her stomach settled and cleaning up puke!
We weren't able to do any of the things we had planned, but....it happens!
We dropped them off at the airport 4 sickly days later and Chad & I continued our 'break' by heading to Ruidoso, New Mexico!
Our First Trip Together to New Mexico
We had a wonderful time together!
We had to get up so early to take our family to the airport so I just wore some comfy clothes and didn't bother with 'getting ready'. So when we got to Ruidoso I immediately hopped in the bathtub when in the middle of washing my hair I screamed...."CHAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot ALL of my clothes!!!!!!!!!!! They are hanging in your closet in my nice hanging bag!!!!!!!!! I ironed ALL of them!!!!!! AND I even creased my pants, and I never do that myself!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!! I don't have anything to wear!!!!! What am I going to do!!!!!!!! My clothes!!!!!!!!! I don't have them!!!!!!!!!!! OH NO!!!!!!!!!!! (with some pouting, fake crying, screaming, yelping, and whining)....OH NO!!!!!!!!!" I finished my (now) unrelaxing bath...put back on my dirty clothes and pouted! On the way to our hotel I had spotted several boutiques that I hopped to go in...but TRULY (and I mean that...TRULY) didn't expect to buy anything from. Ruidoso has no Target...no shopping mall....just lots of little outdoor shops and boutiques...they do have Wal-Mart and a Bealls...however, I just really don't like those stores very much. The Bealls was not in a mall....and I'm just really not into wasting money on clothes that I'll never wear again. Chad reassured me that everything would be okay and that we'd buy whatever I needed. I did pack my p.j.'s, "undergarments", shoes, belts, jewelry, hair products...etc in our luggage, but because I had spent so much time ironing while my poor niece was throwing up I specifically hung my nice 'out on the town...date clothes' in my hanging bag; which was now over 3 hours away! I finished fixing my hair and put on my makeup and looked....really quite nice from the shoulders up! HAHA! I put on my workout stretch pants and my Race for the Cure t-shirt, while my husband sported his nice shiny boots, starched jeans, and unbelievably nice buttoned-up shirt, with his Texas hat that I love...incredibly hott! I convinced him to drop me off downtown and I'd call him when I was ready (parking was very limited). God must've seen that my patience was thin...because I immediately found 3 stores that I loved and bought a pair of jeans and top in one, and 2 more shirts in 2 other stores. It was wonderful. NOW, see...I didn't go overboard! I wore those same pants everyday we were there! I also noticed the difference in the smell of my dirty clothes and Chad's...I really do prefer mine more...I just don't stink. Isn't it amazing in the difference between men and women...well, that's a whole 'nother blog! Anyways, Chad was very understanding and loved my new clothes...& so did I! I changed in the store (how redneck is that!) and we left on our way to the Casino! We played Craps and then walked over to the convention center to see LARRY THE CABLE GUY! Man, is he hilarious or what?!?! I don't think Chad and I have ever laughed so hard in our lives. We literally had the best time. I did not expect to have that much fun. He was very entertaining, and nothing was really inappropriate. After the show we walked back to the casino where we spent the remaining hours playing craps. Have I ever told you how much I love that game?!?! I love the dice...I love the interaction you get with everyone at the table. It's just so much fun to me. I don't get too serious...I'm just there to have fun. If I win...FABULOUS...if I break even...GREAT...if I loose...it's just another night of entertainment for me. Doesn't everything you do for fun cost money (movies....golf....shopping...it's all the same to me!)
Anyways that was our first day in Ruidoso.

Day 2 was great. We each had a massage and then got ready to walk the streets of downtown Ruidoso. I love these neat little ski towns...they are just so fun! So many neat little shops, fancy boutiques, and unique restaurants. We had a great day of sight seeing and shopping. After our feet were well worn, we headed to the top of Ski Apache Mountain. Wow...what a drive. I was a little 'uneasy and paranoid' with lots of "SLOW DOWN"..."EASY CHAD"..."OH BOY"..."WATCH OUT"...but it was well worth the very steep driveup. After up and back down the mountain we headed back to the hotel for a little R&R before going back to the casino. We went back and had another great night together.

Me & Smokey the Bear (My dad would be proud of this pic! Just for you daddy!)
Day 3 we headed to the golf course, of course! A vacation is not a true vacation without hitting some golf balls! We played 18 holes and loved the course. Lots of trees, lots of cute little houses...no bunkers (sand traps) and very little water. My drives from the t-box were incredible. It was really a great golf day for the both of us!
Before Golfing!
While we were in Ruidoso we found lots of great little places to eat. The people were friendly, the food was great, and the entertainment was unending. On the way home we stopped at a store that offered wine tasting. Chad has been begging me. I let him do the tasting and I told him that I'd taste at home that way when I spit it out across the room he won't be embarrassed. He loved all of them, but picked his favorite...its still in the fridge waiting for the perfect opportunity. We had a great time together, as always...and I just can't wait for our next visit to Ruidoso!
