An Esparanza Easter!

Well...HAPPY EASTER!
As most of the world is either at church or getting ready for church right now...there are others who will not be worshiping God today and not even realizing the full meaning of this day.
How sad!
Chad and I were invited by the Bean's to attend church with them, in El Paso, and then follow up with lunch in Clint.
As much as we'd love to...we just can't be gone that far or long today because Chad is the only Warden in our county right now; Ricky is on a Border Op in Reeves County.
We hoped to attend church in Van Horn this morning...and then come home so Chad can go to work, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen either.
Chad got a call around 10 or so last night about a deer being hit North of Sierra Blanca. The car had over $1,000 worth of damage so Chad had to wait on DPS to come over from El Paso to do reports...etc. On his way home....he called and said that he saw a bunch of lights East of our house...after checking it out it was our neighbor in his truck with a horse trailer behind. What in the world was he doing so late/early?!?! Chad did not get home until 1 or 2 this morning; and of course I was lying in bed listening to the scanner until he made it home safely. I am exhausted but so used to being exhausted and still waking up early!
Chad on the other hand is sound asleep in bed!
Easter weekend, we've been told, is one of the busiest weekends in our county, along the Rio. & boy were they right!!!!!!!! Chad has seen so many people this weekend. He says they're swimming in the Rio, coming over to visit family, and then walking back to Mexico. I just don't understand why this is allowed. Today is supposed to be the most hectic day with lunches, picnics, and more family outings on the Rio.
So instead of attending church today...I plan on watching The Passion of Christ (on DVD), reading my Bible, and worshiping God in my little adobe house in the community of Esparanza!
God Bless You All & Happy Easter!

I stopped listening to the scanner a long time ago!!! It was when we lived in Marathon, Cody was a Deputy then, the scanner was going crazy and dispatch called the house to say "Mam, we got a call that there were shots fired and we cannot locate your husband." Awful day. I remember he came home and I was a mess. The scanner went byebye that day!!! On a lighter note, I hope you had a wonderful, restful day. The guys always seem to work the holidays. It's a bummer.
