Athens, Texas (Oct 3-7)

So...my trip home was a huge success, to say the least!
I sometimes complain out here in the desert that I have nothing to do...well this trip home was filled with fun, excitement, & busy'ness'! It was so great to hang out with friends, visit family, and have a little extra fun! =)
My Time in Athens began on Saturday October 3...

SATURDAY, 3: Karen, April, & Presley picked me up from Love Field around 2:45 and from there we ate at El Fenix (YUMMY!). We continued the drive to Athens and that evening was spent just hanging out at the house. Presley has grown SO MUCH and is talking so much more (Thank You Lord); she is just a doll!

Presley playing w/ her new book Chad & I bought for her!

Sunday, 4: April, Wendy (one of my great Athens friends), & I braved the storms and went to First Monday in Canton! Of course I was totally unprepared for a torrential downpour (no appropriate clothing!) so the main focus was first to find me some rain boots...yes heels and cute flats just wasn't going to cut it! ....But that never happened! I made a few purchases, all gifts, (I'm so proud of myself!) and April bought me the cutest hat for Christmas and gave it to me early...how sweet; she loves me! We had a great time....through the wind and through the rain...we still shopped! We ate at Ochoas in Canton (YUMMY!) and from there we drove back and separated. ...My next stop was...the Bankheads! You must understand, the Bankheads, are possibly my most favoritest family in the whole world! ...It was a night of just chillin' with Banky, Bobby, Trey, Dedra, Trent, & Tye! ...SO MUCH FUN! April & Presley stopped by for a short visit, which was nice.

SHOPPING TIME:

Monday, 5: Monday morning I had a dentist appointment and the results came back fairly good...NO CAVITIES, but I will need a 'small operation' within the next year. My muscle is pulling my gum up and is exposing too much of a tooth in the upper back part of my mouth...must be from the excessive speech exercises we do daily (haha)...my muscles are just too strong! ...They are going to have to take a skin/tissue graft from my palate (OUCH) and cover that area over the 1tooth. Sounds painful and super scary but obviously, from what they tell me, this is a common procedure that is not caused by lack of anything...it just happens! ...Well, I'm praising God that it's just in one area! YAY! ...That exciting morning continued with lunch at Rounders (YUMMY!) with Karen, April, & Presley! April drove me out to the ranch where Jimmy & Justin work (so beautiful) and later that evening I visited Rebecca, my Athens massage therapist, and received some time in the sauna and an 80 minute upper body massage!

Tuesday, 6: Karen & I accompanied April & Presley to their "Mommy & Me" dance lessons in Tyler. Presley did a good job; I think she was the youngest in the class. She looked so adorable in her tutu, tap shoes, and ballet shoes! We did some shopping in Tyler: Academy Sports, Hobby Lobby, Potpourri House, Racquet & Jog, and R.L. Davis; it was a fun girl time! When we got home I rushed to AMS (Athens Middle School) to deliver a clipboard & she loved it; yay! From their I went to my "old home campus" Bel Air Elementary; it was so nice to see all of my 'old co-workers'! Some of them hardly recognized me from across the room....is it my hair or is it my THIN BODY (haha)!!!!! =) But as soon as I put my hands on these hips and opened my mouth....they knew it was me! I love my Bel Air friends and so enjoyed working there! I spent almost 2 hours there visiting with friends: Banky, Kathleen, Amanda, Paula, Debra, Elizabeth, Sharon, Nancy, Renee, Starla...and a few others; it was such a good visit! Then I went back home, to Aprils, and Wendy came over for a short visit. As I was visiting with Wendy, Tye arrived for our last family dinner before I left for Texarkana! We drove to their house where mysteriously we found a Jalapeno Tree coupon in the mailbox...WOW, AMAZING! We were so excited!!!!!!!! So off to J-Tree it was...me, Banky, Bobby, & Tye!

...G'bye messages; always a must!

Wednesday, 7: Jason, Jennifer, & Baby Jaxon Lambright met me for lunch at the Ochoas in Athens (YUMMY!); it was so great to see them...to meet Jaxon...and to catch up; I feel like it's been forever since we've been able to just "hang out"! They looked great as always and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them at Christmas! From their, my outings continued...I went to the Texas Freshwater Fishery Center, located in Athens, where the new Game Warden Museum is being established. To my dismay...they had already shut down for the day (earlier than their posted closing time)...I was really disappointed! I then went to our storage building to make sure all of our furniture and belongings that we left behind were "doing good"...to my dismay I was unable to get in the gate (yes, I even called to make sure I had the right code and everything the day before...which reminds me I'm calling that lady now)! So, after much frustration I decided to stop by Wulf Outdoors to visit Mr. Mike Mayo. It was so good to see him and from their, I stopped by his house to visit is wife, also my friend, Cindy...oh yea & I can't forget Daisy (their precious pup pup)! I left their house after a good visit and ran by Waldenwood to pick up a birthday gift for Banky. I found the perfect present, I think, so I bought it and delivered it to her house before she got home from work (sneaky, sneaky)! I picked Karen up and we left Athens around 5 to meet my mom & Jay in Sulphur Springs; Memaw also accompanied us on this short trip! When we arrived we all enjoyed dinner together at San Juans (isn't that the name of it?!?!...anyways, YUMMY!); mom, Jay, and I continued the drive to Texarkana!
....So that was my visit to Athens...more to come from the Texarkana visit, SOON! =)
