Currently Reading...

Okay, I have a confession to make! I haven't actually been reading the book that I said I was! The God I Don't Understand book has me confused and conflicted! I started out reading the book with questions, in regards to the title...I just don't like those words, and you can find my previous blog here! After reading the first chapter, I felt some relief...because honestly, we can't really understand God; he's so much "bigger" than our heads can understand...he's so much "more" than our hearts can feel...HE IS GOD, we are man! However, after reading several chapters, I felt this book was WAY over my head in theology. It seems the book quotes lots of scripture (which is good), but then analyzes it from different perspectives. If those perspectives aren't mine, I sometimes feel "conflicted" with what I'm reading. My faith is strong and I feel that I do not waiver in my beliefs, however this doesn't mean that I enjoy reading others thoughts, perspectives, reasonings...etc. I just wasn't enjoying this book as I had wished, so honestly I haven't read it in a month or so. I would love to one day have the desire to pick this book up and read it in it's entirety, but for now...it's going on the shelf. I would title this book: The BOOK I Don't Understand!
