My mom and Jay came down to celebrate the weekend before my actual birthday and brought me a cookie cake...YUMMO!!!!! They also gave me an ottoman that I had picked out from Target; love it! The Bankhead's left me a birthday surprise on my doorstep the day before my birthday; how special it is to come home to your front door decorated with presents! I also received several cards and gift cards; gifts are always nice as are phone calls from family and friends. Birthdays are so special!
I, of course, did not work on my birthday because well...I just don't believe in it! No, honestly...this is not a joke! I feel there is 1 day a year to celebrate you; no matter how big or small the celebration, it is a celebration! My birthday philosophy: spend time with those you love, do things you enjoy, and soak up every second because this is your day! Chad, Kylan, and I spent the day together. They took me antique shopping and cooked for me; how special! I bought an antique wooden high chair (for Kylan's first birthday party and pics) and an old wooden step ladder (to use for decorating)! It was a wonderful day with the 2 men in my life!
