We began the day by camping out on the curb of Fairfax, in Hollywood, at the CBS Studio's gate at 12:15 (yes...15 minutes after midnight)! Although we already had tickets for The Price Is Right, we had to stand in line (just like everyone else) in order to receive our Order of Arrival passes. When we arrived at 12:15 there was already 2 people ahead of us! Steve & Tony (father & son duo) were so much fun and we couldn't have asked for a better set of guys to be in front of us; darn it...HAHA! It was Steve's 4th time and Tony's first. Steve told us the ins and outs and got us more and more excited with each hour that passed! We waited for a total of 6 hours before the gates opened and the Order of Arrival passes were handed out. I was actually able to convince Ross, one of the Price Is Right workers who gave us our passes, to take a picture with us; SO COOL! The majority of the people in line didn't arrive until around 4:30/5:00 a.m....what losers; HA! We enjoyed our super cheap clearanced patio chairs from CVS and enjoyed the morning hours hanging out on the curb in Hollywood; we were confronted by the homeless, saw a hit and run (drunks) accident, and even witnessed a few crazies in The Price Is Right line...HAHA! Oh my goodness, we really had such a great time!
After 6 hours of camping out on the sidewalk we returned to our hotel where we were greeted by Ted (The Farmer's Daughters Price Is Right King) and he was shocked that we actually camped out that long; he obviously doesn't know us well and how hard core we are for The Price Is Right! We snapped a pic with him and then were off to bed for a quick nap!
We awoke approximately 4 hours later to start getting ready for our big debut! We arrived back at the studio at 12:30 where we spent the next 3 1/2 hours in processing (having pictures taken by the staff, submitting our info in case we won, being interviewed, and lots of waiting)! We were then ushered into the actual studio where the taping began.
WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW! Drew looked great, the models were gorgeous and the excitement level was more than I could handle! Chad & I were seated next to Steve & Tony on the first row, yes right next to where the contestants sit! I couldn't stop yelling, clapping, jumping, and dancing...I was literally having the time of my life; oh wait...we were there for Chad; HAHAHAHA! I had no clue that I would have that much fun and it was totally something that I will never forget!
Neither Chad nor I were called to COME ON DOWN but we definitely didn't let that get us down; the show was AWESOME...the prizes were AMAZING & DREW CAREY ACTUALLY HAD A ONE ON ONE CONVERSATION WITH CHAD!!!!!!!!!!!! How cool is that!!
The convo went something like this:
DREW: "Well, hi Chad! How are you?"
CHAD: "I'm good Drew!"
DREW: "Well Chad, what do you do?"
CHAD: "I'm a Game Warden."
DREW: "A game warden? COOL! Let me come down there" (he came off the stage down to our level and stood right in front of us...like literally 1 foot from us!!!!). "Where are you a Game Warden?"
CHAD: "Texas."
DREW: "Oh, you're a Texas Game Warden! What exactly do you do as a Game Warden in Texas?"
CHAD: "Well I enforce hunting and fishing laws, I do water safety..."
DREW: "That's cool. So you like ask people for their hunting and fishing license?"
CHAD: ...laughter... "Yea!"
DREW: "Well, Chad...let me see YOUR hunting and fishing license!"
HAHAHAHA! Isn't that so neat? Drew Carey talked to Chad!!!!! I still can't get over it! Chad loved every second of it! I wish you could've seen his face! (you know I would've taken pictures if cameras were allowed!)
So, back to the show...as each contestant was called down we acted as if we knew them personally. We were clapping, yelling and of course I was jumping up and down like crazy; we gave them high fives and shouted answers as they were placing their bids! I can't wait to see us on camera! (November 15) Fun, Fun, Fun! The winning showcase in the showcase showdown was a LEXUS Hybrid, a makeover and photo shoot with Nigel Barker in NYC, and $1000!!!!! Oh yes, did I fail to mention that NIGEL BARKER was there!!!!!!!!!
When they announced his name during the show as he was presenting an item for bid (a super cute outfit) I started going crazy; of course Chad had no clue who he was!!!! Nigel always looks so great on t.v., but wow, in person....HOTT!!!!!! For those of you who don't know Nigel he is a world known model turned photographer and fashion designer. He is also on America's Next Top Model as a judge! Here is Nigel's blog to prove that he really was there! HA! He gave everyone in the audience a copy of his first book Beauty Equation and when The Price Is Right taping was over, a few of us snuck on stage to get his autograph before they noticed and kicked everyone else off; HA! Whew, I was there just in time! I spoke with Nigel one on one, got his autograph, and gave him a huge hug...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) Talk about a totally great day....so much coolness for a girl like me to take in!
When we left The Price Is Right Studio, we went back to the hotel to "freshen up" before we headed out for a night out on the town. We walked across the street to The Grove where we ate dinner at La Piazza. While walking through The Grove we came upon a concert and guess who was performing....BRIAN MCKNIGHT & MICHAEL BOLTON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another...W-O-W!!!!!! I'm telling you the day couldn't have gone any better, we literally had the time of our lives and nothing will ever erase the wonderful memories that we made on that 20th day of September!
