Today is openning day for antelope season so Chad is working all day. I am very excited for him...but not for myself.
I just never know what to do with the 24 hours I have to myself when he is gone. For some reason...I can't enjoy it fully. ...Maybe it has something to do with...there is nowhere for me to go...no place to get a pedicure (within 80 miles)...no place to run and get a snack or drink...no friends to visit...NOTHING to do!
I try to be crafty..but you can only make so many clipboards in a day! I want to be outside...I want to go somewhere!
I would love to work out.....but no gym here in the village! I'd run down the "road" but I'm too scared to go by myself......snakes....scorpions...people who speak a different lanuage! Agh!!!!!
As much as I like our 'house'....this town is just not home.
Speaking of home...we had a wonderful trip back to East Texas!

Wednesday - September 24
- Flew from El Paso to Dallas where my mom picked us up
- Stopped for lunch at TaMolly's in Greeneville...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
- Continued the drive to Texarkana
- Arrived at the apartment where we visited with my mom, Jay, & Kristen (they're in
the process of moving...they buy and sell houses like crazy!) =)
- Met Lauren & Cody (friends from High School) for Dinner @ On the
Border...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
Thursday - September 25
- Took care of some business (if you know me well, you know what I mean)
- Picked my mom up @ work...and visited some friends
- Ate a burger at the Texarkana favorite...TLC...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
- Ate dinner @ Bill & Sara's (friends of Mom & Jay)...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
Friday - September 26
- Ate lunch at TaMolly's...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
- Left Texarkana to meet Trey & Dedra in Dekalb
- Continued on the road to Broken Bow Oklahoma
- Bought some groceries @ Pruetts Food
- Arrived @ Big Bear Cabin
- Enjoyed Beaver's Bend
- Cooked chicken & corn...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
Saturday - September 27
- Rented Kawaski Mule for the entire day and road along 33,000 acres of
trails...got lost...swam in the river...had a picnic...FUN...FUN...FUN
- Cooked steaks & potatoes...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY
Sunday - September 28
- Left Broken Bow
- Met Karen, April, & Presley in Canton and continued with them to Athens
- Dinner w/ the Bankheads (Bobby, Banky, Trent, & Tye) @ Jalepeno

Monday - September 29
- Hung out with Karen, April, Presley, & Jimmy...FUN...FUN...FUN
- Dentist appointment @ 2
- Went to Bel Air Elementary to visit friends and see some of my kids (yes...I
still consider them my kids!)...FUN...FUN...FUN
- Cookout w/ friends and family...YUMMY...YUMMY...YUMMY...FUN...FUN...FUN (Jimmy,
Karen, Memaw, April, Justin, Presley, Matt, Wendy, Shawn, Chrystal, Kalynn,

- Flew back to El Paso
- Grocery shopping
- Drive back to Sierra Blanca
As you can tell.......we were VERY busy but we had a lot of fun! It was nice to come home and just sit, but sitting gets tiring so the trip was a much needed 'get away'. We took so many pictures that both cameras are completely dead. I am still in the process of uploaded all of the pictures and are 'recovering' some from others cameras since ours went dead. I will TRY to post pics on Monday evening.
