Book Update

Well I finished my reading, a few weeks ago actually...sorry for the long overdue book update, of The 5 Love Languages and I strongly recommend this book for any couple looking to improve their marriage or just simply learn how to better love your spouse.

As Chad & I traveled home for spring break I started and finished my next book Glimpses of Heaven. I have seen this book during many of my trips to the bookstore and I finally gave in and purchased it, and I'm so glad that I did! This book is a collection of many short, very short, stories of individuals whose lives are coming to an end. The author is an R.N. and the former president of Hospice. She retells some of the encounters she had with her patients during their last days, weeks, months on Earth. These stories are very moving and something that some may question, but that I totally believe! I've been by the bedside of my great-grandmother and Chad's grandfather as they were dying and the stories in this book are similar to the events that I witnessed as 2 of these wonderful people in my life passed away. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is encouraged by the positiveness of death and our life with Christ after our lives fade from this Earth. I will say that although I do not know the hearts of some of the people mentioned in this book, I BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN IS BY ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR. Simply believing in God is not enough, doing good deeds is not enough, going to church and having a religion is not enough, it is a personal relationship with the Lord & Savior who sent His son into the world and who died upon the cross to forgive all of our sins and who rose from the grave and conquered death so that we might have everlasting life with Him....HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN. The devil believes in God...believing is not enough. The reason I say all this is because some of the people mentioned in the book seem to have "come to know" Christ during their last days but it never mentions how that happened that's why I give you my "heads up" and beliefs up front. This is truly a good read and very uplifting!

I will soon begin reading Meet Me At The Well. I can't wait to "dig in"; I've become such a bookworm!

I will keep you updated on my readings.
What good books have you read lately?!?!?!
