Doctor Visit Update

Okay....I'm doing great!!! YAY!!!!!! After writing the previous blog early this a.m. I was finally able to get another hour or so of sleep (only 3-4 hours total...but much better than ZERO)!
Chad took me to the doctor's office and was completely active in my appointment, asking questions...etc. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH & AM BEYOND BLESSED TO HAVE HIM AS MY HUSBAND!
Dr. Gupta my pain doctor/secondary neurologist firmly believed along with my neurosurgeon/neurologist Dr. Kemper that I do have Occipital Neuralgia. He recommended that I have the temporary nerve block procedure, which I nervously agreed to. I had full faith in Dr. Gupta but was extremely worried about myself and my reaction. I am TOTALLY not good with needles...not seeing them, talking about them, or thinking about them; so writing this blog is all for YOU and you should be so proud of me! I was a total big girl as I laid stomach down on the table with Chad holding my hands (per my request!) as Dr. Gupta inserted the needle in the back of my head approximately 3 inches from the top of my neck and half way between the middle of my head and my right ear. Chad said that he pushed the needle in and inserted the fluids in 3 different directions which explains the rush of fluid I felt throughout my head, which I did NOT enjoy! Honestly, it wasn't too painful but that doesn't mean I didn't freak out a little bit; haha! After it was over and I knew I was okay I started sweating like crazy and I thought I was going to pass out, PLUS I was lying on my stomach so I could barely breathe with my face down! After a few minutes he allowed me to sit up and I was able to cool down and relax. I am totally proud of myself. The numbness wore off pretty fast and so far I haven't experienced any pain in that are where the injection was done, like he said I might. I will go back to Dr. Gupta's office next Monday for a follow-up, so I plan on having ZERO headaches for the rest of my life, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Gupta told us that for some people, this is all it takes; one shot. Others require more and others require surgery. We are fully trusting in the Lord that THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!! Won't you pray with us?!?!
Thanks for all of the calls, messages, and sweet texts you guys are so sweet and beyond thoughtful. Chad & I both appreciate your loving words and kind prayers through this journey.
God Bless You All!

OMG, that's sooo crazy. I can't wait to see if it works. I'll have to call sandi and tell her... the family is skiing in Durango. She's not skiing because of her issue but she still is loving the snow. Glad you are feeling better, I can't imagine. Praying for you!
